During his first anniversary in office, Governor Bago shared these insights, emphasizing that the 'New Niger' vision is more than a catchphrase—it's an achievable goal with the citizens' backing.
Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has announced that the state's monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) stands at N10 billion.
Governor Bago, who is optimistic about the state's financial growth, aims to increase the IGR to N100 billion by 2025. He highlighted that the current administration has exceeded the N4 billion monthly revenue inherited from its predecessor.
During his first anniversary in office, Governor Bago shared these insights, emphasizing that the 'New Niger' vision is more than a catchphrase—it's an achievable goal with the citizens' backing.
"Our aspirations are high, and we're committed to our goals. We're investing in our people's lives, not just spending money. The source of funds is not a concern; rather, how we utilize them is what matters," stated Bago.
He further elaborated, "The 'New Niger' vision embodies our commitment. The projects underway are merely the start. We're dedicated to delivering excellence across all sectors for our populace."
Bago urged the public, "When you see progress, remember it's your due, not a favor. Demand from us what you lack, and we shall provide. It's our duty to return to the community what we've received from it."
The governor also expressed gratitude to his team and the government's branches for their role in actualizing the state's initiatives, acknowledging their support and patience over the past year.
In their addresses, ex-Minister of Commerce Mustapha Bello and ex-Vice Chancellor of IBB University, Lapai, Nasiru Maturate, advised Governor Bago to stay the course on his transformative agenda and avoid distractions.
