Kogi, Bauchi, and Oyo have been identified as Nigeria’s three priciest states on a year-on-year basis, leading in All Items Inflation.


On the other hand, Lagos, Ondo, and Edo rank as the most expensive states on a month-on-month basis.


This information comes from the National Bureau of Statistics's most recent consumer price index and inflation report for April.


The report details that Kogi state recorded a 40.84 percent inflation rate for all items, followed by Bauchi with 39.91 percent, and Oyo with 38.37 percent.


In contrast, Borno (26.09 percent), Benue (27.53 percent), and Taraba (28.69 percent) experienced the slowest increase in Headline inflation year-on-year.


For the month-on-month analysis, April 2024 saw the highest inflation rates in Lagos (4.52 percent), Ondo (3.35 percent), and Edo (3.27 percent), while Kano (0.30 percent), Ebonyi (0.97 percent), and Adamawa (1.25 percent) saw the slowest inflation growth.


DAILY POST notes that both headline and food inflation rates in April surged to 33.69 percent and 40.53 percent, respectively.
