Senator Barau Encourages Kannywood Performers |
Senator Barau, in a statement from his Media and Publicity Advisor, Ismail Mudashir, highlighted the film industry's role in fostering peace and solidarity.
Senator Barau I. Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, has urged Kannywood actors to utilize their films to bolster the federal government's initiatives against banditry, abductions, and other national issues.
The exhortation was given by Senator Barau during a meeting with the Kannywood Guild of Actors' executives at his National Assembly Complex office in Abuja.
Senator Barau, in a statement from his Media and Publicity Advisor, Ismail Mudashir, highlighted the film industry's role in fostering peace and solidarity.
He emphasized that for the government's success in addressing banditry, abductions, and other challenges, it is essential for all sectors, including entertainment, to lend their support.
"In this sector, numerous self-employed individuals are creating jobs for others, which is praiseworthy and significantly benefits our country.
Your films are a vital tool for promoting harmony and solidarity. Support the government's efforts to resolve the security issues we face in the North with your cinematic works.
Your films have the potential to convince outlaws and abductors to surrender their arms, reform, and start anew. This should be our focus at present. Ensure that your actions do not contravene the principles of our faith, Islam," stated Senator Barau.
Reaffirming the National Assembly's dedication to enhancing the entertainment sector nationwide, he agreed to serve as the association's patron, as the actors requested, and vowed to keep aiding their success.
The actors earlier lauded Senator Barau as a key supporter and a father figure to the Kannywood industry.
Alhaji Alasan Kwalli, the Chairman, expressed, "You are a significant supporter; your longstanding assistance is greatly valued. We extend our congratulations and gratitude for your contributions."
Additionally, Alhaji Shehu Hassan Kano, the Board of Trustees Chairman, assured the Deputy President of the Senate of their eagerness to collaborate with the government in advancing peace and unity.
