Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the former Minister of Information and Culture, has conveyed profound grief at the passing of DIG Ibrahim Lamorde (rtd), the ex-Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a personally authored statement, the ex-minister pondered over their past professional rapport.
Mohammed reminisced about their joint efforts during a pivotal time when the Federal Government of Nigeria was embroiled in a legal tussle with Process and Industrial Developments (P&ID) in London.
"Lamorde was lucid and concurred with me that the P&ID issue would be triumphed not just in the judicial arena but also in the realm of public discourse," Mohammed stated.
He lauded Lamorde for his significant role in formulating key points and defining stances that proved crucial during interactions with the press and policy institutes in London.
"Lamorde's astute perceptions, profound organizational wisdom, and tactical prowess guaranteed that our communications were cogent, influential, and in harmony with the nation's agenda," Mohammed remarked.
Mohammed underscored that Lamorde's demise represents an immense loss to his kin, associates, and the country at large.
Offering his deepest condolences, Mohammed extended his commiseration to Lamorde's kin and his colleagues within the Nigeria Police Force and the EFCC.
"Our hearts and supplications are with his family. May he find eternal serenity," Mohammed concluded.
