Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has announced a reduction in banditry by approximately 70% over the past year.

Radda attributes this decrease to the effective collaboration between local security forces and traditional security agencies throughout the state.

During a work trip to Yola, Radda shared these insights with journalists on Saturday.

He stated, "The time has come to integrate state Police in our national security strategy.

"The incidence of banditry has been curtailed by roughly 60 to 70 percent. Currently, we are dealing with bandits' desperate tactics, as they attack remote villages near forests, setting ablaze homes and harming residents.

"We have formulated strategies to combat this issue."

Radda also mentioned that state Police in many developing nations play a crucial role in safeguarding individuals and property.

He called on all government tiers to make education a priority for the nation's progress.

Radda remarked, "This will enable the underprivileged to obtain quality education at every level."
