The Kano Fire Service's dedication to protecting lives and property is commendable, and their efforts serve as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and prevention measures in our communities.
The Kano State Fire Service has reported a successful month in April, with notable achievements in rescue operations and property savings. According to the service's public relations officer, Saminu Abdullahi, the team responded to 60 fire incidents, rescuing 15 individuals and salvaging property worth N100 million.
While two lives were unfortunately lost, the service's swift response and expertise minimized damage, with property worth N43.6 million destroyed. Additionally, the team handled 13 rescue calls and seven false alarms, demonstrating their readiness and commitment to public safety.
To prevent future fire incidents, the PRO emphasized the importance of handling fire with caution and taking simple precautions, such as extinguishing open flames before leaving premises, especially for night food vendors. Motorists were also urged to drive responsibly and follow traffic rules to avoid accidents.
