The Nigerian Army has issued a statement to refute allegations that it is involved in the enforcement of any legal orders pertaining to the Kano Emirate conflict.
In a statement dated X, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army's Director of Public Relations, emphasized that the military personnel are not participating in the emirate controversy.
He stated that the Army is instead actively taking steps to avert any possible disruption of peace and order that could stem from the dispute.
"The Nigerian Army, along with other security agencies, is primarily focused on averting any breakdown of law and order within the state, which could potentially be exploited by hostile non-state entities.
"Should the security situation escalate to a level beyond the control of the police, the military is prepared to step in promptly.
"At present, the Army's role is to observe the evolving situation and remain prepared for any upsurge that may pose a threat to the state's security or that of the wider region," the statement partially read.
