Kano APC Representatives Reaffirm Support for Ado Bayero

Both Sanusi and Ado Bayero have consistently resisted complying with various court orders demanding their departure from the palace.

In the midst of the ongoing emirship dispute in Kano State, the 12 All Progressives Congress members of the House of Assembly have declared their loyalty to the 15th Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero.

The group, headed by minority leader Labaran Abdul Madari, visited Ado Bayero at the Nassarawa Palace following the assembly’s plenary session on Tuesday.

It is noteworthy that tensions have escalated following the reappointment of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano over the weekend, subsequent to Governor Abba Yusuf's annulment of the five emirates council.

The standoff has heightened unrest in the city, with numerous entities including the police, ulamas, prominent individuals, attorneys, and politicians attempting to mediate the conflict, yet neither party has yielded.

Concurrently, as the APC legislators visited Ado Bayero in the State House, the Kantin Kwari Market Traders Association similarly expressed their support for Sanusi on Tuesday.

The traders' envoy, led by the state’s Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, met with the emir at his Kofar Kudu palace to affirm their support and fidelity to the ruler.

Sanusi urged the traders to maintain integrity and equity in their dealings, highlighting Kano's status as a major trading hub that draws international merchants due to the traders' contributions.

Since Sunday, the emir has welcomed numerous visitors who have come to express their support, including 40 district heads and dignitaries.

Reports indicate that vigilante groups and local hunters (Yan Tauri) continue to guard the palace.

At Gidan Rumfa, five DSS agents were observed securing an entrance to one of the emir's offices.
