The Zamfara State Security Trust Fund (ZSTF) has embarked on a tour of emirate councils to evaluate security issues and foster community involvement in raising resources to tackle the state's insecurity.
The ZSTF Chairman, retired IGP Muhammed Abubakar, while addressing the Emirs of Maru and Tsafe, emphasized the need for cooperation between the trust fund and the local communities.
He remarked, “As this is the first establishment of such an organisation in the state, it's crucial to inform the populace about its functions and responsibilities.
“The trust fund's additional roles include a thorough evaluation of security problems, the collection and dissemination of intelligence, and the acquisition of security equipment and logistical supplies.”
Abubakar highlighted the advocacy trip as evidence of the committee members' dedication to their duties.
He also offered his sympathies to the Emirs and the bereaved families, praying for the souls of the departed.
Responding, the Emirs of Maru, Alhaji Abubakar Gado-Maigari, and Tsafe, Muhammad Bawa, appreciated the initiative and committed to supporting efforts to reinstate tranquility in the state.
“We have initiated special prayers in our mosques across the emirates, which are showing positive effects.
“Given the makeup of your committee, we are confident that the intended goals will be met. Hence, we call for fairness in all your engagements.”
The emirates pledged their complete backing for the committee's strategies and endeavors to realize the state's aspirations.
