Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, the Acting Director of Defence Information, announced in Abuja on Wednesday that the handover occurred during a brief ceremony. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, presented the vehicles on behalf of Defence Minister Alhaji Mohammed Badaru.
The Nigerian military's Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, received 20 enhanced armoured personnel carriers (APCs) on Wednesday to strengthen the battle against insecurity.

The new APCs feature advanced weaponry and communication systems capable of detecting and effectively engaging adversaries from afar.
These enhancements are expected to facilitate uninterrupted military operations, and the APCs were domestically produced by a Nigerian company.
The Permanent Secretary lauded the decision to engage local producers for the APCs as a positive step, noting it would conserve national funds, generate jobs, and lessen dependence on foreign exchange.
Gen. Musa expressed gratitude to the Defence Minister and committed to utilizing the APCs efficiently and wisely.
He emphasized that these vehicles would significantly support the ongoing efforts to eliminate insecurity across the nation.
