It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Kenneth Gbagi, a distinguished former Minister of Education and a prominent figure in the 2023 gubernatorial race. Kenneth Gbagi was 62 years old at the time of his passing, which occurred on Saturday.
The news of his demise was officially confirmed through a heartfelt statement from his firstborn, Emuoboh Gbagi.
"With a mix of deep sorrow and appreciation for his fulfilled life, we must inform you of the departure of our cherished patriarch, Kenneth Omemavwa Gbagi. He was a revered father, grandfather, spouse, and sibling. On May 4, 2024, he left us at the age of 62.
His life’s journey, marked by significant accomplishments and his profound influence on numerous lives and communities, brings us solace. During this difficult period of mourning, we ask for your kind thoughts and prayers for our family. We pray for eternal tranquility for his soul," Emuoboh expressed.
Kenneth Gbagi was the flagbearer for the Social Democratic Party in the recent Delta State elections. It is noteworthy that in the 2023 gubernatorial contest, he was defeated by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
