Gunmen Abduct Customs Officer's Pregnant Wife and Family Members in Abuja |
Gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly abducted a senior officer's pregnant wife and four other family members from the Nigeria Customs Service. The incident occurred at Shagari Quarters, Dei-Dei, a suburb of Abuja.
According to vigilante sources, the gunmen arrived in the area around noon and went directly to the senior Customs officer's compound. There, they took his wife, three of his children, and a younger brother. The officer used to work in Abuja, with the Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) frequently patrolling around his house. However, since his deployment to Lagos, the RRS is no longer present, although his family still resides in the compound.
The gunmen later released the officer's heavily pregnant wife but left with his children and younger brother.
