| Getafe Sets Sights on Umar Loan Deal |

Getafe, the Spanish club, is considering a loan deal for the underperforming striker of Real Sociedad, Sadiq Umar, for the upcoming 2024/25 season, according to reports from PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Nigerian international has faced challenges over the past two years since his transfer from Almeria to the Basque team in the summer of 2022 for a fee of €20m.
Umar, a Super Eagles striker, had a strong start to the 2022/23 season, scoring three times in five appearances, including a first goal for the Txuri-Urdinak against Atletico Madrid, before an injury sidelined him for 11 months.
Post-recovery from the ACL injury, Umar's performance has diminished.
Returning in the 2023/24 season against Girona, Umar experienced a drought of 11 consecutive league matches without a goal until he scored a remarkable goal in Real Sociedad’s 2-1 victory over Sevilla on the 12th matchday.
Even with this moment of excellence, the Nigerian has struggled to secure a spot in Imanol Alguacil’s starting lineup, playing only 1070 minutes out of a possible 3240 and starting in just 12 of the team's 36 La Liga matches.
In the recent seven matches, the 27-year-old only played 22 minutes, coming off the bench against Getafe.
Amidst uncertainty about his future at Anoeta Stadium, Football Espana reported on Wednesday that his departure from the club seemed inevitable.
Within a day, Spanish reporter Angel Garcia indicated Getafe's interest in the forward for the next season.
"According to Angel Garcia, Getafe is considering a loan deal for Real Sociedad's striker Umar Sadiq," stated the website on Thursday.
Following the loss of Enes Unal in the winter transfer window to AFC Bournemouth, managed by Andoni Iraola, Umar has become a key target for Jose Bordalas' squad.
