The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised motorists in Kogi State to avoid transporting petrol in jerry cans during travel to prevent fire incidents.


Mr. Samuel Oyedeji, the FRSC Sector Commander in Kogi, issued the warning during an event commemorating the West African Road Safety Organisation (WARSO) Day.


He highlighted the dangers of carrying petrol in jerry cans on journeys, referencing recent tragic events in the state.


He called on both passengers and drivers to stop this practice, particularly in light of the ongoing fuel scarcity, to ensure their safe arrival at their destinations.
