Lamorde, who once chaired the anti-corruption body, passed away post-surgery in Egypt.
Ibrahim Lamorde, the former head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is set to be interred in Abuja today, May 28.
A funeral announcement indicated that Lamorde's burial will take place following the Zuhr prayer, as reported by NAN.
Lamorde, who once chaired the anti-corruption body, passed away post-surgery in Egypt.
The funeral notice stated: "On behalf of the family, friends, and colleagues, we announce the Jana’iza of our late father, brother, and uncle, DIG Ibrahim Lamorde, ex-Chairman of the EFCC, scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, 2024."
"The ceremony is at the National Mosque Abuja, slated for 1:30 p.m., right after Zuhr."
It was reported by a family member that Lamorde's body is expected to be brought to Abuja from Egypt today.
Following Farida Waziri's removal on November 23, 2011, ACP Lamorde was appointed as the Acting Chairman and was later confirmed as the EFCC's permanent Chairman on February 15, 2012.
On November 9, 2015, he was dismissed by former President Buhari, who appointed Ibrahim Magu as his successor.
Lamorde was also the inaugural Director of Operations at the EFCC, established in 2003.
