The federal government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have pledged to combat fake news in Nigeria. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and the Chairman of EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, made the commitment during the official commissioning of the EFCC Radio, 97.3 FM, in Abuja.

Senator Emmanuel Udende, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti-corruption and Financial Crimes, described corruption as a hindrance to national growth and development. Honourable Kayode Akinolu, Chairman of the House Committee on Financial Crimes, urged Nigerians to make the EFCC Radio their preferred station, as public enlightenment is crucial in the fight against corruption.
