The Primate of the African Church, Julius Osayande Olayinka Abbey, has emphasized that tackling insecurity is crucial to achieving food abundance in Nigeria. Despite government efforts, hunger persists, and addressing this issue is vital. Speaking at the 5th biennial and 118th conference of the African Church in Lagos, Primate Abbey stressed that insecurity hinders farmers from working, leading to food scarcity.
He acknowledged government efforts to release grains and foodstuff but highlighted the need to address insecurity to ensure effective food production and distribution. Insecurity, particularly in the north, has led to kidnappings and murders, causing fear among farmers. Primate Abbey urged the government to support military and security personnel in rescuing victims, reuniting them with their families, and driving out kidnappers and insurgents.
