In the early hours of Saturday, Ado Bayero returned to Kano, greeted by a crowd of supporters. The monarch's aircraft touched down at the Aminu Kano International Airport at 4:30 am.
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the former Emir of Kano, has arrived in the ancient city.
The monarch's whereabouts had been unknown since his removal by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Thursday.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)-controlled House of Assembly repealed the law that ex-Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje had assented to on December 5, 2019.
After Ganduje split the emirates into five and appointed Emirs for each, Governor Yusuf signed the repealed Kano Emirates Council Law. He gave all the affected Emirs 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Subsequently, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, whom Ganduje had deposed in 2020, was reinstated. Governor Yusuf issued a reappointment letter to Sanusi on Friday, and he led Jumu'ah prayers at the Government House in Kano.

Others expressed, "God the Almighty will defeat your enemies."
Dressed in royal regalia, the former Emir walked consciously through the crowd and later observed the Subhi (dawn prayer) at the airport.
