Grammy-winning singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has reignited the debate over who holds the title of the biggest artist in Nigeria. His bold assertion came in the opening verse of the remix for the viral South African song 'Tshwala Bam' by TitoM and Yuppe, where he boldly declared himself the godfather of the Nigerian music industry.
Burna Boy's confidence shines through as he sings, "As long as Naija la wa…Them they call me the Godfather." His claim has sparked controversy, especially considering his previous declaration as the "blueprint" of the Nigerian music industry following his Grammy win.
Notably, fellow artist Davido has also laid claim to Afrobeats' leadership in the past, asserting himself as the godfather of Nigerian music in a track titled 'Godfather' from his fourth studio album, 'Timeless'.
