Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has officially appointed Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn-Grema as the new Emir of Tikau in Nangere Local Government Area. The appointment follows the passing of his father, the former Emir of Tikau, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn-Grema.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, the decision to appoint Ibn-Grema was based on the unanimous recommendation of the kingmakers of Tikau Emirate Council.
Ibn-Grema holds a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics & Extension as well as an MSC in Agricultural Economics from Bayero University, Kano. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Principal Manager at Yobe State University Farms in Damaturu.
His educational background and experience make him well-suited for the responsibilities of the emirate. Additionally, he has participated in various training programs, including Environmental Impact Assessment training at Ecosystem International Limited in Lagos and Health and Safety Training/Induction at the University of Reading, Berkshire.
