The tribunal, with a panel of three judges headed by Justice Adekunle Adeleye, rejected the petition brought forth by the All Progressives Congress candidate, Timipre Sylva, and his party, citing a lack of substantial merit.
The Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, convening in Abuja, has confirmed the election of Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State on Monday.
The tribunal, with a panel of three judges headed by Justice Adekunle Adeleye, rejected the petition brought forth by the All Progressives Congress candidate, Timipre Sylva, and his party, citing a lack of substantial merit.
The judges unanimously agreed that the petitioners did not present any solid evidence to support the claims made against Governor Diri's re-election.
