The state government of Bauchi has changed the name of the state-run university from Bauchi State University Gadau to Sa’adu Zugur University, Gadau.
Governor Bala Muhammed signed this as part of six additional bills into law on Monday.
The governor also gave his assent to other bills including the law to replace the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency 2012 with the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Board; a law for the creation of the Bauchi State Farmers Herders Board; a law to establish the Bauchi State Rural Access Road Authority, RARA 2024; and a law to enhance Children’s Access to Education in Bauchi state.
Governor Muhammed, while signing the bills at the Government House Council Chamber, expressed his happiness over the development’s potential positive effect on the citizens’ lives.
“The state House of Assembly deserves praise for thoroughly reviewing the bills before their passage for my assent. It reflects the harmonious relationship between the legislative and executive branches,” said the governor.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman, earlier stated that the proper execution of these laws would significantly affect the populace’s lives.
He urged the public to keep backing the current government, noting that the state’s infrastructure and other advancements are results of the amicable cooperation between the legislature and the executive.
