Bandits Murder Pastor in Niger After Ransom Payment

In the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, bandits have tragically murdered Pastor Joshua Musa following the payment of a ransom for his release.

Pastor Musa, originally from Nasarawa State, served at the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in the Sarkin Pawa Community before his untimely death.

Members of ECWA confirmed the pastor's death on social media, expressing condolences to his bereaved family.

ECWA member Sunny Danbaba stated, “The pastor and his wife were abducted at Shiroro DCC. They were killed on their way out of the bush after the ransom was paid for their release.”

It was reported that after the ransom was received, the bandits initially allowed Musa and other captives to leave the forest. However, they subsequently seized the Pastor again and executed him.

While Musa's wife and the other captives were released unharmed, Pastor Musa was not spared, despite the ransom payment.

PUNCH Online reported that Pastor Musa was kidnapped with his wife and several others a week prior. The bandits chose to end his life even after receiving the ransom.

Upon inquiry, Niger State Police Command Spokesman Wasiu Abiodun stated he would investigate the matter and provide further information.

“I will find out,” he commented. If you need any more assistance or another task, feel free to let me know.
