He now holds the third spot on the list, with a 13 percent likelihood of securing the esteemed individual accolade.
According to the most recent Score90 rankings, Kroos is positioned just after his Real Madrid colleagues.
Leading the race for the award is Real Madrid's forward Vinicius Jr, with a 33 percent chance, followed by his teammate and England's international Jude Bellingham, who has a 21 percent chance.
Kroos has surpassed Kylian Mbappe, who is rumored to be transferring to Los Blancos this summer.
Completing the top five is England's striker and captain, Harry Kane, who shares a nine percent chance of claiming the Ballon d’Or with Mbappe.
