In an interview, Kwankwaso emphasized that backing President Tinubu is crucial as he provided unwavering support to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari during his eight-year term.
A notable member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso has urged committed stakeholders in the North to disregard the detractors of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and back his efforts to lead the nation to the promised land.
In an interview, Kwankwaso emphasized that backing President Tinubu is crucial as he provided unwavering support to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari during his eight-year term.
Kwankwaso, who criticized the recent demonstrations against the Minister of State for Defense, Dr. Bello Matawalle, labeled the actions as harmful maneuvers aimed at President Tinubu, APC’s National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and other prominent figures of the party.
Dr. Kwankwaso, a former three-time commissioner for rural and community development in Kano state, mentioned that those insulting the presidents on social media are harming the nation and deceiving the populace.
He pointed out that certain politicians, labeled as “disgruntled elements,” remained silent during ex-President Muhammad Buhari’s eight-year administration.
He also called on northern elders to stay focused and collaborate with the region’s governors to deliver the fruits of democracy, assuring them of President Tinubu’s ongoing support.
“President Tinubu has accomplished much in his first year in office, yet his detractors have willfully ignored these achievements. They can’t claim ignorance of his progress; their silence then and criticism now, especially after power has shifted to the South, are baseless attacks on a president who consistently supported Buhari,” he stated.
Kwankwaso reminisced about past agreements that led to the formation of the APC and the rise of President Buhari. He clarified that these same accords facilitated Tinubu’s presidency, with Tinubu honoring the pacts by fulfilling all necessary commitments.
He revealed that the individuals protesting are those who reneged on previous agreements and are now seeking alternative ways to undermine the president and his team.
“Tinubu is diligently working to end insecurity in the region, and the positive outcomes are evident as people can now travel safely between Abuja and Kaduna, unlike before,” he remarked.
He called on the public to advocate for the completion of projects like the Abuja – Kaduna – Kano road, the Abuja – Kano – Niger rail line, AKK Gas pipelines, the Mambila Power project, Bauchi/Gombe oil exploration, and more. “Tinubu is prepared to undertake these and other projects for the North. Unite your Governors and strive for the region’s development and progress,” he urged.
