The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday celebrated President Bola Tinubu's first anniversary in office, expressing confidence that Nigeria is on the path to a bright future due to the numerous positive reforms implemented by his administration.

Felix Morka, the APC's National Publicity Secretary, shared these sentiments in a statement from Abuja titled 'First Anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s Administration – Steering Nigeria Towards a Prosperous and Dynamic Future.'

Despite Nigerians grappling with the escalating costs of food, hyperinflation, unemployment, and the devaluation of the naira over the past year, Morka maintains a positive outlook.

Morka asserted that President Tinubu, facing deep-rooted and critical challenges upon taking office, boldly addressed these issues at their core.

"By ending the fuel subsidy regime in his inaugural address, the president struck a significant blow to what was arguably the gravest danger to Nigeria's economic stability. With equal boldness, he sanctioned the consolidation of the various foreign exchange regimes that were impeding economic growth and development," Morka stated.

He continued, "Subsequent critical reforms included the Oyelede Committee on Tax and Fiscal Policy Reform; restructuring the Federal Inland Revenue Service's leadership; instructing the Nigerian National Petroleum Company to transfer its dollar revenues to the Central Bank of Nigeria; combating crude oil theft; and enhancing the nation's oil exports and revenue.

The President has also made a remarkable impact in his first year with the delivery of top-tier infrastructure projects not just in Abuja but nationwide. He has acknowledged that some of the policies may cause hardship, particularly for the country's poorest and most vulnerable. Yet, the President and our party are acutely conscious of and responsive to these hardships.

"The current discomfort will serve as an investment for a more prosperous Nigeria tomorrow. The APC commends the patriotism and tenacity of Nigerians. We are grateful for your ongoing patience and backing of this administration. We are optimistic that brighter days are on the horizon."
