The Government of Adamawa State has announced a three-day mourning period to pay tribute to two esteemed sons of the state, Ibrahim Lamorde and Musa Abdulmalik, who have recently passed away.
The announcement was made in a statement released by Humwashi Wonosikou, the Chief Press Secretary to the state's governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, on Monday.
The statement noted that the mourning period, commencing from Monday, May 27, to Wednesday, May 29, 2024, serves as a gesture of respect for the legacy and service of the two late individuals.
Governor Fintiri expressed, “The passing of these prominent sons of Adamawa represents a time of profound sorrow for myself and all residents of the state.”
He characterized Lamorde as a "valued anti-corruption advocate" and a "beloved police officer," while referring to Musa Abdulmalik as a "distinguished lawmaker."
Fintiri offered his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and acquaintances, recognizing the significant impact their departure has on the state and its people.
