Emmanuela Ilok, a 17-year-old scholar, has been granted full scholarships to pursue Software Engineering at globally renowned institutions, including Stanford, MIT, Yale, UPenn, Princeton, and Columbia.
Alex Onyia, an education advocate and the CEO of Educare, celebrated Ilok's achievements in a recent post on his X page this Sunday.
"Meet Emmanuela Ilok, the exceptional 17-year-old awarded full scholarships to study Software Engineering at prestigious universities like Stanford, MIT, Yale, UPenn, Princeton, and Columbia," Onyia shared.
He highlighted Ilok's academic excellence, which has earned her national acclaim as the top performer in Nigeria for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education, an honor bestowed by the British Council.
Onyia also pointed out Ilok's contribution to technology, specifically her development of a Machine Learning-based software that detects breast cancer in women with a remarkable 91% accuracy rate.
"She has developed a software utilizing Machine Learning to accurately detect breast cancer in women, achieving a 91% success rate in detection," he noted.
Impressed by her capabilities, Onyia hosted a virtual session where Ilok addressed Nigerian students, offering insights on seizing similar opportunities.
"After an hour with her today, it's clear we're witnessing the rise of a prodigy," he expressed.
Onyia underscored the importance of recognizing and fostering such extraordinary talent, remarking, "Nigeria is home to many more hidden gems like Emmanuela, and it's crucial we uncover and nurture them. Now is Nigeria's time to excel."
