Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has expressed his doubts about the ability of the President Bola Tinubu-led government to improve Nigeria's economic situation. In a recent interview on Channels Television's Newsnight program, Suswam stated that the current administration's economic policies indicate a lack of understanding and capacity to address the country's economic challenges.
Suswam, who also served as a Senator representing Benue North-East Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, criticized the government's decision to remove fuel subsidies, float the currency, and increase interest rates. He argued that these policies would lead to increased inflation, transportation costs, and suffering for the average Nigerian.
