Today marks 17 years since the death of Ahmad S Nuhu, a famous Kannywood actor who died in a car accident on December 1, 2007
Ahmad S Nuhu was a prominent actor and director in the Kannywood film industry. He starred in many movies, such as Masoyiyata (2003), Dijangala (2005), and Sakace (2005). He was born in Jos, Plateau State, in north-central Nigeria. He was on his way back from Maiduguri when he met his tragic end.
His death shook the Kannywood industry like no other. Since the death of Balaraba Muhammad, another renowned actress, no one had mourned as much as they did for Ahmad S Nuhu.
In 2003, the telecommunications company MTN in Nigeria named Ahmad S Nuhu as the seventh person who made the most calls throughout the country that year.
Ahmad S Nuhu joined the Hausa film industry because of Ali Nuhu, a Kannywood actor. Some say that their relationship began when Ahmad S Nuhu was studying at the University of Jos and lived in Ahmad grandfather’s house. However, in a conversation with a film magazine in July 2002, Ahmad S Nuhu said that “Ali Nuhu is the younger brother of his mother.”
Ahmad S Nuhu and Hawwa Ali Dodo were both heroes who died on January 1, but not in the same year.
Ahmad S Nuhu died in 2007, and Hawwa Ali Dodo, who was nicknamed ‘Biba Problem’, died in 2010.
