Drone attack victims will get justice – Sultan
The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of Jama’atu Nasrul Islam (JNI), Dr Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has assured that the council will seek justice for the victims of the accidental drone attack in Kaduna State.
“As strong Muslims, we accept it as the will of Allah that such things happened. We will do what we can for those who were affected and follow up to ensure that justice is done. We are not looking for anyone, but we want justice for everyone. As Muslims, we all felt sad about what happened,” he said.
The Sultan said the conference was to discuss the events happening across the world that affect Muslims and Islam.
He urged the Federal Government to pay attention to the Minna-Suleja and Minna-Bida roads, which are in a terrible state.
The Minister for Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s apology and sympathy over the unfortunate drone incident that claimed lives and injured many people.
He announced that the president had approved the commencement of the FULAKO Initiative, which would provide houses, clinics, schools, and veterinary hospitals as part of a non-violent response to the problems of banditry and kidnapping in the North.
He said the Fulako Initiative was the president’s humanitarian gesture to the communities affected by banditry and would be implemented in Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue.
In his welcome address, the Governor of Niger, Umaru Bago, said JNI had been a beacon of Islamic education and missionary work, contributing significantly to the spiritual and intellectual growth of the society since 1962.
He was represented by his Deputy, Mr Yakubu Garba, who said the state was committed to working with religious leaders to create an environment that fosters peace and understanding.
