Sani Muazu, also known as Bawa Maikada, is a veteran actor who has been in the movie industry for a long time. He was born and raised in Jos, Plateau State, where he also completed his education and worked as a television reporter. He has starred in both Kannywood and Nollywood movies, but he has a special preference for Kannywood.

In this exclusive interview, he shares his views on the challenges and opportunities of Kannywood, his favorite movies, and his personal interests.

The challenges of Kannywood

Sani Muazu is not happy with the way Kannywood is portraying the Hausa culture. He believes that Kannywood should showcase the rich and diverse traditions of the Hausa people, instead of copying the Indian culture.

He says that Kannywood is losing its identity and authenticity by imitating the Indian style of dressing, dancing, and singing. He thinks that this is a big flaw that needs to be corrected.

He urges Kannywood filmmakers and actors to be more original and creative, and to respect and promote the Hausa culture.

His favorite movies

Sani Muazu has been in many movies, but he has two favorites that he is proud of. One is “Dilema”, a drama that explores the consequences of betrayal and deception. The other is “Ninety Days”, a long-range program produced by Arewa 24 television station, which follows the lives of different characters in a complex society.

His personal interests
