The PDP candidate, David Ombugadu, has been declared the rightful winner of the governorship election in Nasarawa state by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

The tribunal delivered its verdict on Monday, October 2, 2023, and sacked Abdullahi Sule of the APC party from the office of the governor.

According to Daily Trust¹, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier announced Governor Sule as the winner of the election held on March 18.

However, Mr. Ombugadu challenged the outcome of the poll at the tribunal and accused his APC rival of electoral malpractice, Channels TV² reported.
