I chose Christianity after being born into a Muslim family —Popular Nigerian Musician, Khaid
“I grew up in a Muslim family because my dad was a Muslim and my mum was a Christian. But I always felt more connected to Christianity.
“I never liked going to the mosque, to be honest. My dad made me go. He and my mum were open-minded, though.
“They said we could choose any religion we wanted. But we lived in a Muslim community and my dad didn’t want to look like he had no authority over his kids, so he forced me to go to the mosque.
“I wanted to make him happy, so I went along. But after a while, I changed my mind and started going to church.
“Now, only my elder sister and younger brother are Muslims. The rest of us five are Christians.”
