Professor A.M Bunza, a lecturer at the Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto, said Dankwairo was born in 1907 in the town of Bakura, about 105 kilometers from Zamfara State.
His father's name is Usman Dankwanda, he lives in Kaya town of Maradun Local Government Area, where he sings for the Emir of Maradun at his palace.
Dankwairo's father and grandfather are all musicians of Maradunne.
He got up and found his grandfather and uncle singing together, but he lived more with his father in real life, and since he was 6 to 7 years old he started going out where his father used to go with him in a chorus of songs.
After the death of his father, the management of the band reverted to Aliyu Kurna, who was Dankwairo's successor, with Dankwairo elected Aliyu's deputy, who was later represented by Dankwairo as the head of the band.
The late Alhaji Musa earned the title of 'Dankwairo' while his father was alive.
His father had a son named Dankwairo because of his sweet voice and skill in singing, so Musa sang with him and imitated his voice. Given that Musa is as skilled as the original Dankwairon he is called by this title Dankwairo.
Dankwairo has since become famous in the field of music, which led him to become a singer for the late Sardaunan Sokoto, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, where Dankwairo sang his first song with the title 'Mai Dubun Nasara Garnaki Sardauna'.
The late Sardauna preferred the Dankwairo band over any other band, making Dankwairo the singer of his palace with an extraordinary quality which at that time did not go unnoticed by the kind of gifts that Sardauna used to give to Dankwairo and his team, like a suit. to the car.
In short, Musa Dankwairo composed 17 poems for Sardauna, and the reason for his meeting with Sardauna was in the political arena of the NPC (Northern People's Congress), Sardauna was a politician and a king, so he needed a royal singer to live with. him in his palace for his name's sake.
After Sardauna's death in 1966, the Dankwairo team rested for a long time before continuing to sing hymns to other famous traditional rulers such as; Emir of Daura Bashar, Sultan of Sokoto and Emir of Zazzau Aminu.
Over the past 29 to 30 years, the life expectancy has reached the late Dankwairo, leaving 14 children, 7 boys and 7 girls, with 104 grandchildren during his death, who continue to reproduce as his eldest son; Alhaji Garba Musa Dankwairo explained.
